Fire Department

The oldest service organization in Lake Benton is the local volunteer fire department. Lake Benton Fire Department was organized January 10, 1893. Today, the department is comprised of  citizens of Lake Benton who volunteer their services to provide top-notch fire protection to the city and the surrounding service area.

Each volunteer fireman spends at least one evening a month attending meetings and training sessions. In addition to this training, they also attend two fire schools and five regional fire meetings. Department members have received hazardous materials training.

Scott Christensen is the present fire chief of the Lake Benton Fire Department.
